Combining off-beat humour and nefarious suspence! Dr Robert Thorndyke (Mel Brooks) is the newly appointed director of the psycho-neurotic institute for the very, very nervous. As he becomes aware of evil and sinister forces at work in the institution, he also becomes aware that he suffers from acrophobia making him almost as nervious as the patients he treats. Each new and hilarious, high-rise experience leads to his eventual conquest over his fear of heights and the apprehension of the culprits behind the plot to destroy him and the asylum. As it's titles tells - A silent movie Mel Brooks plays a has been contemporary director who goes to the head of a studio with what he thinks is a brilliant idea for a movie - to make it silent. This he feels will save the studio from being taken over by a conglomerate. Incredibly it does, but only after a barrage of silent gags and comic adventure.

To Be Or Not To Be
