Warm, intelligent and Exquisitely sad, this is the kind of film that makes you want to go home and hug the people  you love" ELLE

"One of this year's sweetest surprises. It sneaks up on you, disarming you with modesty and tenderness, its remarkable lack of self - infatuation" - San Francisco Chronicle

"Produced by the studio of Pedro Almodovar, one sees the spanish director's influence in the way polley edges her modonna with a touch of the reckless sensulaist" LA Weekly

Ann (Sarah Polley) is 23, has two daughters, a husband, Don (Scott Speedman) and lives in a trailer at the back of her mothers house in vVancouver. Her grey existence is transformed however when she discovers she has an untreatable condition. Keeping this a secret, she makes a list 'Things to do before Dying' which she completes little by little. Unexpectedly, Ann discovers an appetite for life that drives her to live with a sensual and furious intensity she had not known before. She prepares her daughters life without her, meets a man (Mark Ruffalo) whom she seduces, and paradoxically heals… and faces each next day with a courage she never knew she had.
